The Providence SoundSession'05 Parade
Saturday, July 23, 2005
10:00 p.m.
The Providence SoundSession’05 Parade is a climactic moment in this musical
week-long celebration. In the spirit of Mardi Gras, Brazil and Caribbean
Carnival we combine music, culture, and community to unite and celebrate the
rich diversity that exists within Providence and the State of Rhode Island.
Commemorating city life and cultural unity, the parade walk winds, twists, and
grooves through the city streets from Waterplace Park to the Westminster Street
Stage, attracting hundreds of music lovers like moths to a vibrant flame.
Audiences of all ages, backgrounds and interests engage in their common passion
for music, art, food, and dancing in the streets.
All communities, organizations, cultural groups, musical groups including bands
and school bands are invited to come and express themselves through costume,
dance and music.
