WANT International Women's Day Event - An open mic evening from 7-9 pm to share words, poetry, song, drama, flavor-filled theatrics and off-the-cuff antics, all in celebration of women. WANT invites you to join them this evening. Bring your talents, voices, and participation and help raise the bar in open performance to for this International Women's Day event. A hat to be passed will raise funds for Magdalena USA, an international festival of women in contemporary theatre taking place in Providence in July/August 2005.

3:00 PM: Live Jazz with Paul Austerlitz and Real People
As an instrumentalist, Austerlitz has dedicated himself to mastering the bass and contrabass clarinets. He also plays Bb (soprano) clarinet and tenor saxophone. Austerlitz’s band “Real People” specializes his compositions, which, as the fruit of his backgrounds in jazz and ethnomusicology, incorporate the musics that he has researched, fusing Latin and Caribbean music from the Dominican Republic and elsewhere with free forms of jazz. The jazz ensemble is as follows: Paul Austerlitz -bass clarinet, contrabass clarinet, soprano clarinet, tenor saxophone Kevin Harris-piano Wes Brown-bass Royal Hartigan-drum set Jesús Andújar-percussion All are welcome and encouraged to come and enjoy and afternoon of live jazz!
